Danielle C.
Private tutor in Amityville, NY
Education
I graduated from Providence College in 2013 with a degree in Elementary/Special Education. I am also currently enrolled in the TESOL program at Adelphi University.
Experience
I am currently teaching in a 5th grade self-contained classroom in the Amityville School District. I have worked as a 6th grade RTI teacher. I have worked as a 4th grade general education teacher. I tutored a 3rd grade student in all subject areas throughout senior year of college. I volunteer at Little Flower Children and Family Services where I work with many academically challenged individuals. Over the years, I have found that connecting with students is one of my greatest strengths as an educator. I have built meaningful relationships with my students because I have a special way of making them feel comfortable and important. In turn, they opened up to me and were very receptive to my instruction. What I love about teaching/tutoring so much is how you can take a complicated topic and strip it down to its basics and find a way to relate it to the student. Because I work in special education, I have to find unique, creative ways to get the information through to the students. Whether its through a rap song, using manipulatives, or relating the topic to an interest of theirs, I thrive on making learning fun and impressionable.
